==== Damping the Bowden extruder for noise reduction ==== Author: AETEK\\ Difficulty: Beginner\\ **What is this about?** \\ The extruder motor is heard when retracting. In order to reduce the vibrations that are transmitted to the metal frame, you can install a damping.\\ **Required Parts** * 1 Rubber Ring * Double-sided adhesive tape The hobbyist will most likely have the parts in the tinker box We need a standard rubber ring\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_01.jpg}} The ring is cut through:\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_02.jpg}} Unscrew the extruder:\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_03.jpg}} Cut off two pieces of the rubber ring that match the height of the motor bracket:\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_04.jpg}} Stick both pieces of rubber on double sided tape:\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_05.jpg}} Cut off the excess adhesive tape:\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_06.jpg}} Glue both rubber pieces to the back of the motor bracket:\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_07.jpg}} Screw the extruder back on. Do not overtighten the screws:\\ {{:a5:aetek:extruder_damping_08.jpg}} Finished.
