Damping the Bowden extruder for noise reduction

What is this about?
The extruder motor is heard when retracting. In order to reduce the vibrations that are transmitted to the metal frame, you can install a damping.

Required Parts

  • 1 Rubber Ring
  • Double-sided adhesive tape

The hobbyist will most likely have the parts in the tinker box

We need a standard rubber ring

The ring is cut through:

Unscrew the extruder:

Cut off two pieces of the rubber ring that match the height of the motor bracket:

Stick both pieces of rubber on double sided tape:

Cut off the excess adhesive tape:

Glue both rubber pieces to the back of the motor bracket:

Screw the extruder back on. Do not overtighten the screws:
